Most significant discoveries

His most significant contributions are in the areas of Biosciences, Biotechnologies e Nanotechnologies, with the exception in his early life as nuclear physicist, for the discovery with the Cambridge Group Padova-Mit-Harvard of the branching ratios of eta zero meson (Nuc. Instrum. and meth., 1971, 91, 589-598 - Physics Letters, 1975, 568-487-490 Nuovo Cimento, 1974, 21A, 387-413), which establishes its quantum numbers.
Namely:

He has been momg the pioneers:

He discovered the differential scattering polarized circular light (Phys. Chem., 1975, Science, 1975, Biopolymers, 1979), with application to defense and medicine.
He solved the 3D atomic structure of histone H1 (Quart. of Magn. Res. in Biol. and Med., 2, 83-97, 1995), and the software for automatic sequential NMR assignemet of amino-acids (J. Comp. Chem., 1990, 11, 805-818).
In most recent times he has been among the pioneers internationally of Bioelettronics and Nanotechnologiestowards the biochip and the biocomputer (Biosensors and Bioelectronics, 10, 105-127, 1995) through the development of:
